Route 66: The Series, is a new eight-disc set of the show’s complete first season. The episodes have been digitally remastered for the best sound and picture possible. Among the special features are descriptions of the Corvettes used during the series’ run, plus biographies and filmographies of an impressive list of actors (see below) who appeared on the show. Route 66: Season 1, Vol. 1 four-disc set New DVD sets of additional episodes of "Route 66" will conitue to be issued, until all 116 episodes (see below) are released of the iconic sixties era road trip adventures across America. There was a previously released a two-disc set of Best of Route 66 - Eleven Original TV Series episodes that span across all four years of the show, starring: Robert Redford; Robert Duvall; James Caan; Alan Alda;Stephanie Powers; Suzanne Pleshette; Boris Karloff; Peter Lorie; Walter Matthau; Martin Sheen; Leslie Nielsen; Ronny Howard; Edward Asner; Jack Warden; Deforest Kelly; Inger Stevens; Julie Newmar; Barbara Eden and others. Route 66 aired 116 episodes on CBS from Oct 1960 to Mar 1964. It was an hour long black and white show. |
