Lightning McQueen is a hotshot rookie racecar, poised to become the youngest car ever to win the Piston Cup Championship. When he gets lost in the forgotten town of Radiator Springs, he's introduced to a group of new friends that challenge him to reconsider the car he wants to be.
A cocky, talented rookie on the Piston Cup circuit, McQueen is out to become the youngest
racer ever to capture the fabled Cup. He loves winning and all the spoils that come with it.
McQueen has a 750-hp V8 engine, is
rear-wheel drive with coilover shocks and tubular frame, A-arm front suspension with a solid rear
axle. Top end? A claimed 200 mph. McQueen’s sponsor is Rust-eze. The car wears 14 paint variants
throughout the movie ranging from subtly different amounts of dirt and dust to the completely new
paint job near the end. Like all first-year racers, he wears a yellow rookie stripe on the back bumper.
His favorite expression is "Ka-chow!" and he considers his silver lightning bolt to be his lucky sticker.
